About
The Westside growers Market is an autonomous entity, led by a team of the Garden Angels. Historic Westside Gardens serve as the incubator to the Market. It contributes to developing entrepreneurship and neighborhood economics, reinvesting dollars in the community.
The Westside Growers’ Market is an initiative which responds to the desire to provide fresh, healthy and affordable produce to the community. Ultimately the goal is to establish a community-driven fresh produce store. Produce is grown in the community by the community at Historic Westside Gardens Urban Fresh market-garden and Hope With Garden, a certified Naturally Grown. This connection between production and distribution enable freshness, healthfulness and affordability.
To add to the affordability the Westside Growers Market double the EBT by being part of the AWESOME wave double EBT program through the Atlanta Community Food Bank- Food Oasis.
Since 2017, the Westside Growers’ Market has been located at the corner of Lowery and Boone boulevards in the core of the community. It operates four times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The market also reaches residents with pop-up locations in multi-family housing in underserved areas such as Odyssey Villas, Villas of the Dome, and Troy Street, developing a broader consumer base.
